The Clore Learning Space is a light and uplifting space on the first floor of Hay Castle with windows looking out to the Black Mountains. This is only the third Clore Learning Space in Wales alongside Cardiff National Museum and St Fagans.
One side of the room is fitted with cupboards which can house materials, tools, and furniture suitable for flexible workshop requirements. We also have a high specification projector which is perfect for talks and presentations.
We have a programme of activities, workshops, talks and classes planned but would love to hear from you if you were interested in hiring this space. Please get in touch by emailing our Learning and Activities Manager, Mari Fforde on firstname.lastname@example.org
On Tuesday 9th August at 10:30am and Thursday 11th at 1pm. Tickets are £5 and can be purchased here on the website or in the shop on the day
Come and explore the National Portrait Gallery exhibition with Billie and then get some top tips on taking portraits. The workshop will include going out in Hay with Billie and learning how she photographs. You will need to bring your phone or camera.
This workshop on August 20th will take place outside on the lawn (inside if the skies open) and is run in association with Hay, Brecon and Talgarth Sanctuary for Refugees and is part of the FLY WITH ME flying festival in solidarity with the people of Afghanistan. The festival is part of events inspired by Good Chance:
Sanjar Qiam, Elham Ehsas, Elaha Soroor and other Afghan artists across the UK and Europe present a festival of solidarity filled with Afghan kite-flying, storytelling, music, poetry and dance.
On Saturday 20th August 2022, one year since the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban, people everywhere will remember and preserve Afghan culture through the simple, joyful act of kite flying. Together, we will commemorate an ancient art form which is once again under threat.
Spread across over 20 locations in the UK and Europe, Fly With Me invites you to make and fly Afghan kites and join our call for the fair and equal treatment of all people seeking safety, including those from Afghanistan.
