Our volunteers play such a vital role in many aspects of life at Hay Castle, from greeting visitors and serving in the bookshop to tending the garden and delivering tours. We could not do this without our amazing team who offer a warm welcome to visitors and help us keep the place safe and friendly. We welcome volunteers who can offer any time from a few hours a month up to one or two days per week. We have opportunities in the following areas
Castle tours
Retail
Welcome and assistance
Community/charity events
Exhibitions
Outside space maintenance
In return we can offer you camaraderie, fun, rewards and an opportunity to share and develop your knowledge of Hay and the local area.
Previous experience isn’t required and you will be warmly welcomed and given an introduction into the possible roles that you might like to carry out in this fabulous building. If you like spending time with others, have an interest in Hay and/or the heritage sector and can get to Hay Castle easily, we would like to hear from you.
