A Child's Christmas in Wales & A Christmas Story

A Double-Bill of Christmas Treats

Venue: Hay Castle Great Hall

Lighthouse Theatre presents two wonderful performances to bring your Christmas to life.

A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas performed by Adrian Metcalfe

A Child's Christmas in Wales is a piece of prose by the Welsh poet Dlyan Thomas recorded by Thomas in 1952. Emerging from an earlier piece he wrote for BBC Radio, the work is an anecdotal reminiscence of a Christmas from the viewpoint of a young boy, portraying a nostalgic and simpler time. It is one of Thomas's most popular works.

A Christmas Story by Richard Burton performed by James Scannell

Set in a mining village in Wales, and seen through the eyes of a young, motherless boy on Christmas Eve, this is a poignant and heartwarming recollection of Christmas: a child's story of mystery, fear, doubt, and, finally, fulfilment.
