Hay Castle is a place like no other to get married. The Castle is set in the heart of Hay-on-Wye, the famous Town of Books, against the stunning backdrop of the Black Mountains. Relaxed and stylish, it's an amazing place to hold weddings, blessings or civil ceremonies. We have a variety of spaces to suit the size of your ceremony:
The Great Hall
Celebrations will take place in this atmospheric hall, featuring double-height ceilings, oversized fireplace and medieval stone walls, flooded with natural light. A characterful space which can seat 60 to 70 people.
The Mezzanines
These lovely spaces on the upper levels of the mansion are Ideal for 20 to 50 people. Natural light is key, with views out over the iconic rooftops of the historic book town of Hay-on-Wye.
The Former Stateroom
This beautiful, light space on the first floor is suited for larger celebrations of about 70 guests. Huge south-facing sash windows with views overlooking the great lawn and the Black Mountains.
With just a small number of weddings taking place at Hay Castle each year, this is a unique opportunity to weave your story into the fabric of Hay Castle's history. Our tale goes back almost a thousand years, from medieval sieges to the swinging sixties.
